Article: Forget What You Know About Good Study Habits- Summary

In the article "Forget What You Know About Good Study Habits" talks about how the brain learns better, therefore school systems should change their way of teaching. For example, instead of students locking them-self in the library or a quite room to focus on a subject or a test, some may actually get more from what they study by studying multiple subjects and with windows to look out to. The principle behind this is that the brain seem to remember things better if it comes back to see the material again after leaving it. If the brain is forced to study the same kind of material, it will get bored and become harder to remember. It was also mentioned that a test is one of the best tools for the brain to take something in. The reason for that would be when doing a test our brain has to search through itself to find information which is more likely to stay in the brain because of repeating usage.
Other than that, the environment and the social life of a student also has huge influence on learning; such as friends, opposite sex, relationships within the social circle, and family.
